Brazilian animation is going through the best phase of its 100-year history. It has gained international visibility over the past decade. Animated films have been nominated to the Oscars and have won the most prestigious awards at the Annecy Festival, the world's largest animation film festival.

It's no surprise that Brazil was honored at this year's Annecy Festival. Apex-Brasil also prepared its tribute to Brazilian animation. In addition to decorating the streets of Annecy with the Brazilian colors, it also worked with more than 40 Brazilian animators to produce a film that travels through 100 years of Brazilian animation in 100 seconds.

Special thanks to Ana Flavia Marcheti, researcher and author of the book Trajetória do Cinema de Animação no Brasil (Animation Film History in Brazil), for curating the films on the website and for contributing her knowledge to the project.
